Primary responsibilities for the IT Technician will include providing technical assistance and support for employees with questions related to computer systems, software and hardware. This position will be responsible for responding to questions by phone, email and in person.
Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance internally and remotely.
Troubleshoot through diagnostic techniques to answer questions.
Identify problems and suggest improvements for procedures.
Provide accurate information on IT products and services.
Direct unresolved issues to the IT Manager.
Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software.
Provide daily application and reporting support to users by phone and in person.
Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
Configure workstations, network printing, and directory and server structures.
Provide desktop support by troubleshooting issues, cleaning viruses, rebuilding hardware, installing software, and coaching users in MSOffice applications.
Develop and deliver onsite and remote training to users.
Assign users and computers to proper groups in the Active Directory
Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
Assist with onboarding of new users
Able to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
Ability to manage complex workload and prioritize appropriately, delegating where appropriate.
Ability to work well and collaborate with others
Ability to work well independently and identify opportunities to create and improve systems without direction
Keen attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidential information
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the IT field.
Sharepoint design and configuration experience is a big plus!
Prior military experience is a PLUS!
BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field not required, but preferred.
2-5 years of experience as a help desk technician or other technical customer support role.
Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products.
